Welcome to Griffin Industries
Griffin Industries was founded in 1943 by John and Rosellen
Griffin. Today, Griffin is a wholly owned subsidiary of Darling International and part of the
largest rendering company in North America. The company provides the most effective animal
and bakery by-product and restaurant grease recycling services in the world, reclaiming these
materials into a host of value-added product streams from superior animal feed and pet food
ingredients to renewable fuels and organic fertilizers. Through the years, Griffin has become
a model for recycling excellence, having embraced “going green” and ecological sustainability
long before environmental stewardship became a household term or corporate directive. Griffin
Industries remains committed to the future and to our leadership role in the rendering industry,
continuously working to develop new products and services.
When Darling and Griffin merged together, we realized an incredible opportunity to unify our product and service offerings to better serve our customers. The result was our new brand, DAR PRO Solutions, a Darling/Griffin Brand. Our commitment to providing the industry best in products and service remains, and our ability to deliver on both has grown even greater. With over two centuries of combined expertise, and the ability to provide service in all 50 states, DAR PRO Solutions will be the best answer to our customer’s varied and critical needs.
The rendering industry affects everything from the food we eat to the fuels that power our vehicles. If it were not for the collection and recycling efforts of renderers, mountains of organic waste materials would create an immense environmental problem along with an oppressive tax burden.
Griffin Industries collects and recycles billions of pounds of
inedible materials annually. Meat and poultry by-products, grocery scraps, used restaurant
cooking oil and grease, and bakery by-products are reclaimed into a broad array of value-
added products. Through these recycling efforts, the Griffin name has become synonymous
with quality, safety, biosecurity and integrity in the poultry, aquaculture, livestock, pet food,
industrial, chemical, petroleum, leather and fertilizer industries.
